Resolution
HONORING T.W. ANDREWS HIGH SCHOOL’S ACHIEVEMENT OF FIRST PLACE IN THE HIGH STEPPING NATIONAL BAND COMPETITION
WHEREAS, on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Benjamin Banneker High School in Atlanta, Georgia, the T.W. Andrews Red Raiders marching band from High Point captured first place overall in the High Stepping Nationals Marching Band Competition; and,
WHEREAS, this is the first time a North Carolina high school band has won the High Stepping National contest; and,
WHEREAS, this extraordinary accomplishment was made possible under the leadership of the Director of Music Jason Heath, Drumline Instructor Cyril Jefferson, Drum Major Coach Braxton Allen, Music Arranger Trey Ingram, Senior Coordinator Faith Davis, Dance Instructor Raven Jefferson, Flag Instructor Tiffany Golphin, and Auxiliary Assistant Shakia Fields; and,
WHEREAS, the Red Raiders also brought home Grand Champion trophies for Drumline, Flag Team, Marching and General Effect; and,
WHEREAS, Guilford County is duly proud of the Red Raiders Marching Band its accomplishments and to this end wishes to express its congratulations and appreciation to them.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Guilford County Board of Commissioners that it hereby congratulates T.W. Andrews High School's Red Raiders Marching Band on its outstanding victories and achievements and hereby expresses its admiration and appreciation for the great pride and honor it has brought to our County as champions in its sport and demonstrated committment, dedication leadership qualities.
