RESOLUTION
Resolution
WHEREAS, the Guilford County Panhellenic Council represents the collective interests of historically Black Greek-letter organizations (BGLOs), also known as the Divine Nine, which have made significant and lasting contributions to the civic, cultural, and educational fabric of Guilford County; and
WHEREAS, the member organizations of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, have long served as pillars of leadership, community service, academic excellence, and social justice; and
WHEREAS, the Guilford County Panhellenic Council has consistently demonstrated a commitment to uplifting communities through mentorship programs, scholarship opportunities, voter registration drives, health initiatives, economic empowerment activities and advocacy; and
WHEREAS, the Council fosters collaboration across its member organizations and unites them in service to Guilford County through civic engagement, volunteerism, and support of historically underserved communities; and
WHEREAS, the Guilford County Panhellenic Council exemplifies the spirit of unity, leadership, and service, encouraging a sense of responsibility and pride in both current members and future generations of leaders.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Guilford County formally recognizes and commends the Guilford County Panhellenic Council for its invaluable contributions to our community and extends appreciation for its enduring legacy of service, excellence, and impact.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be entered into the official records of Guilford County and that a copy be presented to the Guilford County Panhellenic Council in honor of their exemplary work.
