BACKGROUND

Background

The Guilford County Board of Commissioners approved submission of the 5310 & 5311 North Carolina Department of Transportation / Integrated Mobility Department (NCDOT/IMD) grants at the 9/19/24 Regular Meeting. Due to each of the revenue grants surpassing $200,000, the associated revenue contracts are now before the BOCC for approval per Guilford County Budget Ordinance.

 

The Guilford County Transportation Department has prepared the 5310 - Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation / Integrated Mobility Department (NCDOT/IMD) in October 2024. The total amount of the 5310 grant award for FY2024-25 is $200,000, with 50% or $100,000 in Federal funding and 50% or $100,000 in County match funding, which will be used for departmental salaries and vehicle maintenance expenses. Staff projects that these funds will support 9,426 trips in FY 2025-26. The FY 2023-24 grant was in the total amount of $200,000 with $100,000 in Federal funds and $100,000 in County match.

 

The Guilford County Transportation Department has prepared the 5311 - Community Transportation Program grant application to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation / Integrated Mobility Department (NCDOT/IMD) in October 2024. The total amount of the 5311 grant request for FY 2024-25 is $316,454, with 85% or $268,985 in Federal and State funding and 15% or $47,469 in County match funding, which will be used for administrative and capital expenses. The FY 2023-24 grant was in the total amount of $316,454, with $268,985 in Federal and State funding and $47,469 in County match funds.
