BACKGROUND

Background

Staff requests a public hearing and approval of Text Amendment Case 16-08-GCPL-04262 to the Guilford County General Development Ordinance as a result of Legislative changes approved by the NC General Assembly.  The proposed text amendments (and reference to the associated Session Law) include the following:

Temporary Health Care Structures-(Adds Use to Definitions Sect.2-1.3, Permitted Use Schedule Sect.4-3-1, Adds Use to Development Standards Sect.6-4.88) (Permits temporary health care structures) <http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/enactedlegislation/sessionlaws/html/2013-2014/sl2014-94.html>

Copies of each Session Law is attached.  A redlined version (including the proposed revisions to the Permitted Use Table) indicating both new text to be added to and existing text to be deleted from the Guilford County Development Ordinance is also attached.

Staff recommends approval, along with the Guilford County Planning Board holding its public hearing on September 14, 2016 (minutes attached) and recommending approval by a unanimous vote of 8-0 in favor, as presented (Ayes: Collins, Cannon, Leonard, Apple, Jones, Alexander, Geter, Mann. Nays:  None.).
