Resolution
WHEREAS, Guilford County is proud to be an employer of choice for more than 3,000 employees whose hard work, innovation, and dedication support the delivery of essential public services; and
WHEREAS, County employees serve residents in nearly every aspect of community life, including education, public safety, public health, economic development, environmental protection, transparent communication, and many other programs and services; and
WHEREAS, through the lens of livability, Guilford County seeks to create a desirable and supportive community where people of all ages, abilities, and incomes have opportunities to live, learn, work, and play; and
WHEREAS, Guilford County employees advance this mission through professionalism, compassion, creativity, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement that enhances the quality and effectiveness of County services; and
WHEREAS, Guilford County is committed to maintaining a supportive and family-friendly workplace that attracts and retains talented employees, promotes employee well-being, strengthens engagement, and encourages excellence in public service; and
WHEREAS, meaningful recognition honors employee achievements, strengthens morale, and demonstrates appreciation for those who make significant contributions to County Government and the community; and
WHEREAS, Guilford County is proud to launch the S.T.A.R. Employee Appreciation Program - Service, Tenure, Awards and Recognition as an ongoing initiative to celebrate employees for their public service, years of dedication, professional accomplishments, leadership, teamwork, innovation, and exceptional contributions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Guilford County Board of Commissioners hereby recognizes and celebrates the more than 3,000 employees of Guilford County Government and expresses its sincere appreciation for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serving the people of Guilford County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Guilford County Board of Commissioners proudly supports the launch of the S.T.A.R. Employee Appreciation Program and congratulates this year’s five program award recipients.
