BACKGROUND

Background

The new commercial distribution facility for Ahold Delhaize USA located in Whitsett NC, will require substantial electrical facilities service to be installed on the site. This agenda item seeks to (1) authorize an easement request for the permanent utility placement/installation that will be needed to support this new commercial structure (2) authorize a temporary access construction easement for the clearing, grubbing, and temporary access work that will be needed for this new utility placement/installation. The site is currently under construction. There is no financial impact to the county.

 

The electrical facilities shall be overhead, except as needed on or under the ground to support the overhead facilities, and located in, upon, over, along, through, and across a portion of the Property within an easement area described as follows: A strip of land forty feet (40') in uniform width, lying equidistant on both sides of a centerline, which centerline shall be established by the center of the facilities as installed, one thousand, one hundred & forty feet (1,140’) in length, for an area of forty-five thousand, six hundred square feet (45,600 ft2).

 

The portion of the Property subject to this temporary access construction easement is the area described as follows: A strip of land forty feet (40') in uniform width, lying equidistant on both sides of a centerline, which centerline shall be established by the center of the underground Duke Energy Facilities as installed, one thousand, one hundred & forty feet (1,140’) in length, for an area of forty-five thousand, six hundred square feet (45,600 ft2).

REQUESTED ACTION

Requested Action

(1) Authorize staff to enter into the requested easement, in substantial form, to Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC to allow installation and maintenance of the electric communication facilities located at 6594 Judge Adams Rd., Whitsett, NC, and authorize staff to take all reasonable actions to finalize and execute said easement.

 

(2) Authorize staff to enter into the requested temporary access construction easement, in substantial form, to Tippmann Construction, LLC to allow clearing, grubbing, and temp access for installation and maintenance of the electric communication facilities located at 6594 Judge Adams Rd., Whitsett, NC, and authorize staff to take all reasonable actions to finalize and execute said easement.
