BACKGROUND

Background

The Guilford County Sheriff's Office purchased vehicles to maintain the County's Law Enforcement fleet earlier this fiscal year. The vehicles previously purchased were thirty (30) Dodge Chargers for law enforcement patrol purposes and six (6) Ford Transit 350 vans for inmate/prisoner transport purposes. The vehicles in the Sheriff's Office fleet utilized for patrol or transportation vans have in-car camera systems installed in them for various reasons. The Sheriff's Office needs to purchase a total of twenty-six (26) in-car camera systems. Twenty (20) camera systems will be for patrol vehicles and six (6) camera systems will be for transportation vans. All of these new cameras will operate on the Panasonic Arbitrator retention system, which is the existing system utilized by the Sheriff's Office for patrol vehicle in-car cameras.

The Guilford County Purchase and MWBE departments have evaluated and approved quotes received from GovDirect. The Guilford County Bid Waiver Justification form has been signed and is attached. The quoted price for the equipment is pursuant to either an NC State Contract or a Federal Contract.

Twenty-six (26) in-car camera systems purchased under i-Pro Sourcewell Contract #101223-IPRO for $165,464

Six (6) Panasonic rugged tablets, docking stations and  purchased under State Contract NC204B for $23,238
