RESOLUTION
Resolution
WHEREAS, the Greensboro Swarm, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, completed a remarkable and historic 2025-26 basketball season; and
WHEREAS, this impressive achievement came during the Swarm’s tenth season in Greensboro and will be commemorated with a championship banner ceremony on Friday, November 6 at the Novant Health Fieldhouse; and
WHEREAS, the Swarm completed their regular season as the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference with an impressive 24-12 record; and
WHEREAS, the team demonstrated exceptional resilience, teamwork and fortitude by winning the first home playoff game and first playoff victory in franchise history;
WHEREAS, this championship victory marks the first G League title in franchise history, bringing tremendous pride, national recognition and excitement to the City of Greensboro, Guilford County and the entire Piedmont Triad region; and
WHEREAS, the Swarm remain committed to serving Guilford County through educational programming, youth engagement and nonprofit partnerships, including an annual Education Day that welcomed more than 2,100 students from twenty schools to the Novant Health Fieldhouse during the 2025-26 season; and
WHEREAS, the organization celebrated its tenth anniversary season in monumental fashion, reflecting a decade of community engagement, player development and astounding fans from opening night to the final buzzer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Guilford County Board of Commissioners officially celebrates and congratulates the players, coaches, and basketball operations and front office personnel on the Greensboro Swarm’s historic 2025-26 season and championship victory in the G-League Finals and expresses its deepest appreciation the team’s continued commitment to proudly representing this Greensboro and Guilfo...
