BACKGROUND
Background
During the NC Association of Assessing Officers (NCAAO) fall conference, the Guilford County Tax Department was awarded the Joseph E Hunt Distinguished Jurisdiction Award for accomplishments in property tax assessment, implementation of innovative projects or efforts to enhance the overall effectiveness of a county tax department. This was the first time Guilford County has won this award.
The Tax Department received the award in the large jurisdiction division for their impressive use of Power BI software to improve their data management. By leveraging this innovative tool, they transformed complex layers of information from their Computer-Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) system into dynamic, daily-updated dashboards that present a wealth of insights in a clear and concise manner.
