BACKGROUND
Background
The Guilford County Transportation Department has prepared the 5311 - Community Transportation Program grant application to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation / Integrated Mobility Department (NCDOT/IMD) in October 2024. The total amount of the 5311 grant request for FY 2025-26 is $316,454, with 85% or $268,985 in Federal and State funding and 15% or $47,469 in County match funding, which will be used for administrative and capital expenses. The FY 2023-24 grant was in the total amount of $316,454, with $268,985 in Federal and State funding and $47,469 in County match funds - the same amount as the new application.
A public hearing is required to assess the value and need for a community transportation system and assistance to the elderly and disabled citizens of Guilford County. Attached is a summary of the grant request and authorizing resolution.
