PROCLAMATION
Proclamation
WHEREAS, emergencies that require law enforcement, fire or emergency medical services can occur at any time; and
WHEREAS, when an emergency occurs, the prompt response of law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics and emergency medical technicians is critical to the protection of life and preservation of property; and
WHEREAS, of our public safety officials is dependent upon the quality and accuracy of information obtained from citizens who contact Guilford Metro 911; and
WHEREAS, Public Safety Telecommunicators serve as a vital link between our citizens and law enforcement, firefighters and emergency services personnel by sharing accurate citizen information and monitoring public safety activities by radio, in order to ensure safety; and
WHEREAS, our Guilford Metro 911 Telecommunicators have substantially contributed to the apprehension of criminals, suppression of fires and treatment of patients and consistently exhibit compassion, dedication and professionalism while performing these duties on a daily basis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Guilford County Board of Commissioners proclaims the week of April 14-20, 2024 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Guilford County in honor of the professionals whose commitment and hard work play a major role in keeping our citizens and this community safe.
