BACKGROUND
Background
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will initiate intersection improvements to keep traffic flowing in a safe manner. These improvements will consist of adding left turn lanes on Summit Avenue (SR 2526), a left turn lane on Hicone Road (SR 2565) and signal modifications. The estimated cost of the project is $1.8 million and will be covered by NCDOT funding.

RESOLUTION SUPPORTING NCDOT INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
FOR SR 2526 SUMMIT AVENUE AND SR 2565 HICONE ROAD
WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will perform intersection improvements to SR 2526 (Summit Avenue) and SR 2565 (Hicone Road); and
WHEREAS, the requested improvements consist of adding left turn lanes on SR 2526 (Summit Avenue), a left turn lane on SR 2565 (Hicone Road), and signal modifications; and
WHEREAS, all costs associated with the intersection improvements of SR 2526 (Summit Avenue) and SR 2565 (Hicone Road) will be provided through NCDOT funding.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Guilford County Board of Commissioners that it hereby provides its support of the intersection improvements set forth for SR 2526 (Summit Avenue) and SR 2565 (Hicone Road).
