BACKGROUND
Background
Since June 1, 2017, the Guilford Soil and Water Conservation District (District) has been depositing revenue from the 1) No Till Drill rental; and, 2) Annual Tree Sale event into the Guilford County Soil and Water Foundation account #14204210 (Board of Commissioners Consent Agenda item 2017-159 approved on 6/01/2017). That approval established the Guilford County Soil and Water Conservation District Foundation account budget and assigned fund balance. In accordance with para. #4 of the attached interlocal agreement, the District is requesting to withdraw from this agreement (see attached Guilford Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors' March 6, 2024 Regular meeting minutes; and, chair/vice chair e-mail correspondence) and the balance of said funds returned to the Guilford Soil & Water Conservation District in order to continue advancing the mission and goals of the ninety-six (96) local North Carolina Soil and Water Districts. As such, the Guilford Soil and Water Conservation District is most appreciative of the support extended by the Board of Commissioners and assures that the Guilford Soil and Water Conservation District will continue its work in Guilford County to improve soil & water quality, conservation, and education.
