BUDGET AMENDMENT: INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF BURLINGTON AND GUILFORD COUNTY FOR EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SERVICES

end

BACKGROUND

Background

A relationship has been in place with the City of Burlington since an original contract in FY 2021-22 to provide interim Emergency Management Services during a program evaluation.  The City of Burlington requested that Guilford County continue providing Emergency Management Services on a contractual basis through the hiring of one (1) full-time employee (FTE) and support from existing staff.  This program expansion was approved by the Board of Commissioners as part of the FY 2021-22 budget and has been in place since.

The City of Burlington has recently completed an assessment of its capabilities and needs and has decided to take the emergency management program, including the full-time employee currently employed by Guilford County, internal to the City of Burlington and end the interlocal agreement for those services.
